In 2248, the Rhineland is bound for deep space when a sudden malfunction causes it to crash on a desolate world, killing much of its crew.

Too far out for the mining corps to mount a rescue - or even know their fate - the marooned survivors must make a new life, coping with the trauma of the crash and the hazards of their spartan new home.

As they grow to trust each other, the secrets that led them to ground begin to surface, threatening to tear their fragile community apart.
